Graduation day

A Graduation ceremony is an event where the commencement speaker tells
thousands of students dressed in identical caps
and gowns that individuality is the key to success.

One of the graduates is my pride , my honor, my DAUGHTER.

My one and only MARICAH ♥

I am so proud to witness one of her significant event
her  Graduation day it was held in
University Of Southeastern Philippines
at 6'o clock in the morning.

Together with her father MARLVIN and younger brother MACKY.

We are  one of the parents who achieve accomplishment as well as those hundreds of parents who attended the graduation day. Together with their relatives . Spending with a three hours ceremony is  and supporting them for six years in elementary. Everything is worth it .Everything is possible isn't it?

NINE MORNINGS :-)

What is it about  "A NINE MORNINGS" before Christmas?
For Roman Catholic they believed and practiced going to church for Nine Mornings before they celebrate Christmas day. Here in the Philippines we called it  "Simbáng Gabi" . It is  a devotional nine-day series of Masses by Roman Catholics and Aglipayans in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary in anticipation of Christmas. "Simbáng Gabi " which translates to Night Mass is usually held from December 16 to December 24 . It may starts at 3 to 5 o' clock in the morning . The last day of the Simbang Gabi, which is Christmas Eve,  is called "Misa de Gallo", which literally translates to "Rooster's Mass".

The original tradition has novena  and singing before the mass starts in church. From this popular Nine Mornings, festivity emerged and many people participates; families and friends gather in the church to celebrate the coming birth of Jesus Christ. This is an annual event  for Roman Catholic and is cherished Christmas custom which eventually became a distinct feature of Philippine culture and  a symbol of sharing.

There are hundreds  and thousands of people  wake up early and attend the mass. It gives hope, happiness and strength to each of them.“This is really a  good occasion to show  that the church is the people of God.

Even these two little kids are so excited to wake-up.They don't mind the time as long as they can witness and experience the said event. They are so proud to be a part of it. There is a belief  that if they completed the nine mornings  and make a wish.God will grant it.

Years ago when Spaniards came to Philippines and colonized the country they brought with them Christianism.
"Simbáng Gabi"  has become a form of socialization for Filipinos and a chance to meet up with relatives and friends.
After the mass, churchgoers are also in for a food trip with various native delicacies, including bibingka, suman, puto bungbong, salabat and hot chocolate being sold outside the churches.
Filipinos are also known to celebrate the longest Christmas season in the world, from September until early January.Every Filipinos around the world come home to celebrate Christmas with their family. "There is no place like home." as OFW"s says.
So try to visit Philippines to experience this known tradition and be a part of it. Merry Christmas !
